Someone shared this link with me, and I thought the rest of Girlpower would appreciate. The images are adds from a British department store that hopes to attract customers by photographing women with different body shapes in their merchandise.
Not only do I like the message it sends that there is no universal standard beauty, but I also think it’s a smart way to do business. My sister noted how advertisements like these are much more helpful because they give you a sense of what will actually flatter your body. When you’re dealing with your average American Apparel skinny model draped in a shapeless sweater, you’re essentially going in blind. This kind of marketing seems genius in comparison. I hope to see more of it.
