One of my favorite things about Christmas is seeing the Nutcracker. I love the production, all the colors, the choreography, costumes and the grace each of the dancers possess. I was trained in ballet from age 2 but have moved on to other styles in recent years. But I have always loved the technique and admired ballet dancers. A ballet dancers must have incredible control while being fluid and graceful. And this must all seem effortless. So in the spirit of Christmas I was inspired to share this video of ballet dancer Misty Copeland. She dances for the American Ballet Theatre and is the first African American female soloist for the American Ballet Theatre. She has been able to extend ballet beyond its usual audience by touring with Prince. She is an absolutely beautiful performer, so I will let the video speak for itself.
